What a backlink is, and what yours can do
A backlink is a link from another website to yours. When your Gaux profile or a Journal article you write lists your website, a reader can click straight through to it. The practical value is that families and other professionals who find you on Gaux have a direct route to your own site.
A link only exists where a website address is supplied; Gaux does not add one for you. Search engines decide for themselves how much any link counts, and links from Gaux profiles carry a nofollow mark, which asks search engines not to count them toward ranking. Treat a profile link as a way to be found and visited, not as a ranking tactic. No one can promise a search ranking or put a dollar value on a link, and Gaux does not.
